Cherie Chen was born and grew up in a tropical country where it has never snowed. She loves travelling and has lived in many countries but has now settled in England, where she has spent many magical Christmases with her lovely family. The spirit of the festive seasons, the love of folklore together with old forgotten pagan rites inspired her to write "The Winter Wassail."

Cherie has published 16 children's books with Thai publishers, as an author of "Little Josh Series", many in this series have received awards from the Ministry of Education in Thailand as Outstanding Educational Picture Books, as well as were printed and sold in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. Her latest books are "Moo Ma-Orm Series" and "Malawei & Malawa Series," which she illustrated herself. "Malawei & Malawa- The Babysitters" was short-listed for Outstanding Picture Book of Year 2007 in Thailand by the Ministry of Education. She hopes to keep writing and drawing, creating exciting stories for children and parents to enjoy.
